Let's face it, death is awkward. Many people even with the best of intentions are often out of their comfort zone. Lynn knows it's not always comfortable approaching or talking to someone who has experienced a death. Her hope is that by sharing her personal story and version of the ABC's may help make that conversation a little easier.

Local authors Lynn Shiner, Nancy Chavez and Nancy Eshelman discuss their book Stabbed in the Heart: Three Murdered Children, Two Resilient Mothers. This book recounts the heartbreaking story of two Central Pennsylvania women, Lynn and Nancy, who suffered the deaths of their only children. Jen and Dave, 10 and 8, stabbed to death by their father on Christmas Day 1994, and Randi, 28 stabbed to death by a hit man hired by her husband in 2003.
The message the two women share in their book, written with Patriot-News columnist Nancy Eshelman, is geared towards victims, survivors, media, clergy, family, friends and the community. Through the power of their stories, readers will understand the impact of crime, the stages of grief, the struggles they endured on their unique journeys, and the importance of families and friends.
The authors talked about their experiences that led to the creation of their book, and discussed the process of the book creation including self-publication and time involved.
